At the end of the day, we have two upset parents, a table full of upset children, a Spur full of upset patrons and a country full of upset people...and all this could have possibly (and most probably) been avoided if she had just not engaged him in the manner in which she did.

Because why must she? This is one man in a room full of other people, not you alone with several armed hijackers in an isolated place. There is a reasonable expectation on her behalf that the staff, management, other people around would intervene, which they didn't, so why must she be submissive in the face of his abusive attitude?

Why would you do the same thing while being perfectly calm?

I think you would be lying to yourself if you operated like that.

If you don't understand your own aggression, you're not going to understand it in other people - which you are completely not understanding now.

But it's good that you're defending him, because you're both like minded. It's good to find someone who shares the same ailments to know that you're not alone in your problem.
