Not that mailling [email protected] has done much ... oh well ;-)

you probably know this, but most ISP's use transparent proxying (to save bandwidth and service requests faster). when restarting squid (proxy/cache software), it tries to finish current requests before actually restarting. during this time, it doesn't accept any new requests. that is why you were seeing the error.

looks like someone at wbs was playing with the squid config files...

Got the same thing here, at first I though it was my proxy then I had a closer look and realised that it was WBS being fools again.

transparent proxy screws up my downloads?

Trying to download java SDK from sun.

I can get past 7,5 megs.

Used browser (mozilla) and wget (command line downloader).

Also can't listen to streaming content that is served on port 80.

anyone else with the same problems? Any ideas?

chz,

file stops dead at 7.18Mbyte
trying it with GetRight.... gets stuck at the same spot and I cannot resume. Never ever seen this happen before

thanks Kei

i tried again and got 7,527,096 bytes.

md5 checksum of this fragment is 950e246d03a569204f1300e670d589cb if someone wants to confirm.

i'm stumped.
