Hi ,

Can anyone assist with the following ?

I have a squid proxy server. I want to limit the bandwidth from my LAN to the WAN.

Thanks

A snapshot of the QoS settings on Smoothwall :

Note that I don't use QoS as I don't need it :)

Thanks , see my current situation is Http traffic seems to be maxing out my link. Firstly there was no proxy and caching server on site , this I installed and is working well , but after looking at the LAN traffic I notice that Http traffic from the proxy box to the internet is very high , reducing the bandwidth for other services like mail etc. therefore I want to set a limit. any other ideas?

Thanks

just remember if you use smoothwall or ipcop you have to have TWO interfaces on the device. Since they obviously never came out of the era where man could use a virtual nic with pppoe over a physical interface.... *RUN*
