Hi guys,

So as far as I know, SRA needs to be supported by the exchange as well as the router.
Now most newer routers support this feature although do the exchanges here in South Africa support them?
More specifically if you are on a VDSL line?

Regards,
Psy

EDIT: Also what about PhyR?

I'm glad someone's finally asking this question on here

The problem is, neither Telkom's helpdesk, nor their social media team, seem to have any idea what SRA is. It is enabled at my office, and makes a great difference to the stability of the line. In bad conditions, rather than losing sync, it lowers the rate dynamically, or raises it when the conditions are good, so you don't need to restart/resync. You can refresh the router status page and literally see the rate changing every few seconds. I wanted to get it enabled for my home as well, but when I ask them to enable for my port they have no idea what I'm talking about!!! What did we expect with Telkom, right ?

Hmm, well I enabled it when I got my line upgraded to VDSL and got my new router and it works.

Was automatically enabled on Telkom's side for me.

PhyR however I am unsure about. Most of the ISP's overseas only enable it if they have IPTV. So very likely Telkom have not bothered with it :/
