Indeed there are similarities, but more concerning is the unemployment rate differences.
SA is indeed on a slippery slope considering this news.

The Chinese are ethical and very good with investments in Africa. No ways they'd ever want to take what they've built and then some if the country in question never paid up...said no logical person ever.

This is the nature of the beast when dealing with China, and if RSA thinks that being part of BRICS means anything, they need their collective heads checked. They would take everything away if needed. But, since we are shunning the West, this is the route they're going.

Yeah, big difference between their mob and our mob, the sri lankan mobs mainly targeted the thieving politicians, killed a few, burnt their mansions, destroyed their cars, lambo collections etc... here however, the mob defends the thieving politicians and targets small businesses and foreigners... the sri lankans may get positive change from this, where gov actually starts working for the people again, here, no hope of that, the mob will defend them til death

The SA mob has been blinded by racism by their masters, not even TheChamp caliber of people can see past the ANC indoctrination. All they want to see is racism.

Definitely decent as a person but indirectly responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths due to his resistance to HIV treatment and for not mincing his garlic/potato health minister.

When you see sewerage running in the streets and the life guards have banned swimming because the beach is choked up with faces and toilet paper, when you are driving along the highway and can hardly make out the barriers covered by overgrown bushes and trees, when your lights and water infrastructure is hanging by a thread and a downfall of rain causes hundreds of breaks in the system which has not been serviced in decades, when you see a 40m patch of roadworks that has been sitting for nearly a year or blown street lights not being replaced in 8 years, you know places like KZN are fast catching up to this.
 
Interesting how that news link commentated on the covid-19 hysteria that helped to destroy the economy heavily dependant on tourism. Another chapter in the book 'the causes of ww3' if someone ever gets to read it.
 
Looking back at history there where times where society as a whole took massive back-steps. Things like the Bronze age collapse etc. It generally happened not from one big event but from a combination of big things happening all at once essentially breaking down the economy and law and order in those societies. Our modern world is so interlinked we are still very susceptible to this problem. If we have the right combination of war, climate change, nuclear fallout, etc we could see the world backslide in a huge way, perhaps even collapsing us back into the Iron or industrial age for large portions of the worlds countries. It would result in so much death as the current world population is only sustainable in a globalized world where food production is so much higher. Losing 80% of the worlds population would be almost a certainty in that type of situation.
