SSD & Normal HDD Question

Seems Intel has real competition now with the Indilinx (sp?) drives out. Lets hope that continues to drive down prices. Gotta love competition!

Random write seek time 13ms

SSd's 0.1 that is what makes them fast. The read write does help if you use the high read/write applications but the seek time is why ssd's are so fast.

Here's why I made my 'stupid and inconsiderate' post. On every tech forum I know you still get questions about SSD vs HDD performance. To me, and probably every other SSD user out there, spinners are storage mediums. If performance is something you need/want, you should have an SSD already. Yes, I agree, prices are crap. Then again, I consider it worth the money. In fact, I'll rather advise on skipping your annual(more) GFX upgrade than skipping an SSD upgrade.

Corne, I don't claim to be the smart one. The "LMAO" is the very "inconsiderate" and there for "stupid" part of your post. It sounded condescending to me. Why would you laugh at other people that for whatever reason do not use SSD? As you acknowledged, prices on this relative new technology suck and there are people out there that cannot afford these prices or others that do not care to wait 30 - 120 seconds for their pc's to boot instead of 5 seconds. Other do not even know what a SSD is, the pc must just switch on when button is pressed. The spinning hdd is still the mainstream hdd to boot the pc from, maybe not for long, but I bet for at least 18 to 24 months to come.

If you read your post again and feel your post is not condescending, I will retract my statement and apologise.
