SSD upgrade guide: SA prices, sizes

I want one but the price per gig is an issue. Hoping one day the SSD prices will come down

You only need 180GBs to use as your windows drive. 2Grand is really not that expensive for what you're getting.

Not even, depending on one's requirements. I bought a 64GB ADATA from Esquire last week for R399 (+VAT) which has my OS and Program Files on. In conjunction with that, I have a 2TB HDD where I've pointed my User folder (My Docs, Pics, Downloads, etc.) and there's still around 20GB left on the SSD.

On my MacBook Pro, I have a 128GB SSD and a 750GB HDD which I installed into the Optical Drive's bay, and even that is a winning combo, with plenty of room to spare on the SSD for future apps. It all depends on the individual really. I'd stick with a standard HDD purely for storage. Makes more financial sense for people not willing to give up an appendage for larger sized SSDs.

Of course one can live with that, but way too much hassle. 180GBs still gives you plenty of space for your most used programs and games. No use having only windows on your SSD and everything else on a mechanical drive.
