So my pc boots to Win7 x64 in about 45 sec. And I don't really care about game loading times.

Is it worth buying a SSD to run my OS?

What are the rest of your PC specifications? If you have like an i5 or i7, 4GB+ RAM then I'd say it is worth it to get a SSD.

SSD is worth it for i3 and C2D as well.

If you don't care about boot times, game load times, and maybe program load times, then why do you want a SSD?

Asus Sabertooth Z77
i5 3570k
16gb Gskill DDR3-1866
Asus GTX670

I have no problem with my current windows loading time. My question is, are there any other benefits that might make a SSD worthwhile?

My boot ups, app loading times are great with ssd. I don't mind the reduced space as I carry external hard drive with me.
Has definitely increased my productivity and don't think I can go back

General experience is just so much better. Its like comparing 56K to ADSL 4MB. It just loads and feels better.

The best upgrade I have ever done to a computer. Definitely worth it. It is the Red Bull for computers, it gives it wings!

ssd +100 , i will rather use i3 and a ssd , then i7 and hdd :P

SSD makes everything so snappy.

OK. So has anyone had problems with certain brands? Heard there was a batch of dodgy Vertex's going around.

Anybody running VMs on SSD drives?

Unfortunately SSDs are still relatively expensive for the amount of storage you get. And I need quite a bit.
