Hi Guys

Does transferring a domain from one registrar to another affect your SSL cert in anyway ? The host remains the same.

thanks
Kitty.

If your host remains the same and you’re merely changing registrars then no change is required.

Many isps these days use Certbot to setup ssl , certbot.org issue free ssl certs , that link you’re domain name to your server IP address.
So when you move hosting providers, the new isp just adds the new cert , the “old” isp cert falls away, becomes redundant.

If you have bought your own cert, you have to tell them about it, else you will just get a new one.
Not if the host remains the same.... ie the op is performing a domain transfer but leaving the site where it is hosted. This has nothing to do with the registrar at all unless the site is being moved to a new host, in which case you export the cert on the old host and import on the new host
