Our power went off 4pm, was supposed to be on @ 18:30. Still off now

Hmmm, went off at 20:00 for stage 2, but back on again. Nice surprise.

How long would the bottom freezer on a A+ energy efficiency fridge keep stuff frozen for without electricity?
Can be a about 24 hours or longer if there is no opening and closing of the door. If there's ice in there maybe 36.

Yes. Strange. Myself in PTA East and both my daughters in Rooihuiskraal are all in group 13.

Ohh okay. Yes Wierda x2, the reeds, portion of hennopspark and RHK all group 13.

I packed most of the open spaces with bottles of water. Extra ice for when the power go off and stay off longer than scheduled.

Than easily 24 hours.

Was meant to go off last night at midnight. Thankfully we skipped that. Today and tomorrow there is no load shedding for us.

I've got today, than on Thursday morning midnight to 04:30 sigh. Than Saturday from 8pm to midnight.

When half of SA lost their **** when we were in Stage 6 a while ago, us PE denizens regarded it to be life as usual:ROFL:

That's just not acceptable. Even stage 2 is currently a massive inconvenience. Especially because it's off at the crappiest times.

Jip, still going off from 18:00 to 20:00. crap time for the power to go off, right during peak home time

I've got that same slot tonight. Just between the time we get home and the time the kids has to be in bed. Meaning we'll be eating either cold food or take aways.

When it comes to LS I've learnt that while it could be better, it could also be worse.

I know the folks up north struggle a lot with transformer faults and exploding substations, leaving them without power for multiple days at a time.

So while it is an inconvenience bordering on a travesty, I try and accept it because we are in this situation and there isn't much we can do to make the situation go away (the voter base is making sure of this). Getting upset over it only chases up my BP and achieves nothing.

If anything, at least the majority of South Africans are resilient and know how to make a plan in the most dire of situations
