We had 2 days' outage in that area last week, but from theft of circuit breakers off the mini substations.:mad:

Yet you've had quite a few problems with Houtkoppen SS. Parts around you guys are out today, Northriding is as my dad is there.

Must be getting power from somewhere else or its only across Malibongwe?

Kya Sands Ext 101 Block 8 is only down when LS is active not much else.

Yes, Houtkoppen sub is the absolute pits, as is the water reticulation in this area.
Doesn't help that the land was completely over-developed with blocks of flats and estates when the grid couldn't take it.

Yeah my dads been living in Northriding since the late 80s. When I moved in around 92, the place was quiet and tranquil. But even around the late 90s early 00s power failures started happening. As they build complexes all around us and the old substation couldn't handle it. So they built a bigger one, which now too cannot handle the new load.
My area is the same across the road they constantly have problems, we don't as we're the older suburbs that don't have massive amounts of townhouses.
 
One thing they seem to have done right, for us anyway - since we got the hated new transmitting metering device never had another billing problem.
