Standard Bank uCount

I went through my dad's one and found this :

Too bad they've done away with it.

Also he is on tier 3 which is absolutely ridiculous considering all the products he has :

Wish I'd have set it up for him earlier as he'd have alot more points.

R1100 last month but I've been dropped back to tier 3 because I closed out one of my facilities with the bank. Sitting on 700 points, need 1 to go back up to tier 4.

It's ridiculous though that you can only cash out in tranches of R2000 now.

I'm getting back about R300 per month on Tier 3. Worth the R20 monthly service fee.

I would say, rather cash out as soon as possible.

You would get more interest in the Puresave account than keeping it in uCount.

Its not much, but that add up as well.

Got this SMS yesterday:
UCount Rewards: Get FOUR TIMES MORE rewards points when you redeem at Makro on 5 and 6 December - it's our FESTIVE gift to you! T&Cs apply. Opt out? Reply stop.

I will find something to buy!

Got the same message. Anyone know what the t&c are?

Called ucount. They said that you get your normal reward/percentage x4. So in other words if you redeem whatever points you have on groceries and get 10% back, you'll get that 10% x4.

Well, that's a bummer. I didn't even know redeeming points allows one to earn more points. Thanks for nothing, Standard Bank.

Another fairly stable month on my end, around what its been for the last few months. Still tier 2 which sucks but I'm making no effort to get back to 3. I get roughly R100 just from my petrol spend on my card so its still paying for itself.

I'm also getting around R100 back but that's because I use my card very seldom nowadays :(

Im Also Tier 2 but i get just a little over R200 bucks a month.
I moved over to only using my Credit card for purchases then transferring that immediately from my current account so i dont get in any trouble :)

I think the earn percentage is slightly higher on Credit card then on Debit or Cheque card.

My wife laughs at me as i sit at the end of the day with all my CC slips just to confirm i transferred the right amount in.
And yes i know i could just transfer my salary into my CC but i figure this helps keep a bit of Mental control on my part and I don't have a very high Credit card limit and like to keep it that way.

Hahaha, that's exactly what I've been doing.I'm so used to it now.I think the difference is tiny but every cent counts.

I fluctuate between tier 3 and tier 4 for some reason. tier 4 at this stage, R1300 back this month.

Wife uses my card for all purchases and cancelled her ucount.

Tier 2 and only got about R60 back this month. Normally I get about R110. Might be that I filled up after the 15th and it will only show on the next months statement.
Did get 60 points for spending 10000 points at Makro.
