Hey guys

When a computer shop buys a desktop from the wholesalers, what is the standard markup they put on it when they sell it to the general public? 10%? 20%? 30%?

Thanks

Depends, shops in malls sometimes go as high as 100% on certain items. Government tenders sometimes go as high as 3% (unless you know the right peopel; then its a lot higher ;-)) I think between 10-15% is a standard though.....

As the cost price goes up the profit margin tends to drop a little. It's easier to make 50-100% on a smaller item than on a more expensive item. Standard markup is yes, between 10 and 15%.
