Standing Desk recommendation

That sounds suspiciously like a ID10T error to me.
It does, but the guy who got it to working explained it better, not exactly id10t.

Most of the motors, moved at different speeds. He eventually found 2 which moved at the same speed. Its then when it started working properly.

What a weird issue.

I have a TekDesk 2.0 as well. Been solid. It really does make a difference in the day-to-day, but as others have mentioned, if it wasn't fully motorised, I'm not sure how much I'd use it. The timer function is also valuable.

Had it set up for a few months in DBN, packed the whole thing up (into its original packaging), drove it up to JHB, unpacked and reassembled it. Was delightfully easy.

I did have an issue about a week ago... The display showed "ASR" one morning. Googled the code and found this link. Followed the instructions and was back in business.

Considering we have about 50 at our offices and none of them ever had any issues in the last couple of years it does sounds like user error rather than a manufacturer’s fault.

At the office?

Damn man, need to come work with you.

Startup vibes.

Those who got in early got them as sort of bonuses, but it became less of a thing when newer staff joined later and we grew much larger.

When Covid happened though many got the Deskstand ones to take home which is why I had one of those as well.

I got the last available Heartdeco Height Adjustable Electric Standing Desk with Desk Top on Takealot. I am concerned about the only 6-month warranty. That said, I don't currently have the +R10 000 for the TekDesk at this stage as the standing desk was not a priority until I started getting back pain recently sending me to the physio.

Will probably do a review if I am happy with it.

IF the motors or electronics stop functioning, are there motor only kits available without the frames at a later stage?

All I can say to people is do the standing desk proper where the whole desk is motorised.

I have one at the office but then at home went for one of those Desk Stand moves but it just isn't the same and recently I finally packed it up in favour of a proper office chair and normal desk arrangement instead.

Get the pad to stand on though, makes a huge difference in all day comfort.

Or put your regular desk on bricks. When you get tired of standing, you'll also be too tired to lower your desk again.

I recently stumbled upon the TekDesk v2.0 thanks to Google and MyBroadband! I simply cannot get comfy on office chairs and since my profession requires me to be in front of a computer the whole day, I reckon it is time to start looking at alternatives. I plan on putting my entire setup on this desk which includes my desktop PC, 32" monitor (and possibly more monitors later) and work laptop.

I have a few questions about these desks, if anyone would be so kind as to provide me some answers :)
  1. For those who own a TekDesk 2.0, are you still happy with it?
  2. Is the standard size of 152cm x 80cm x 20mm large and sturdy enough?
  3. Which top material/colour did you choose and are they of high quality?
  4. Do monitor arms fit the desk?
  5. How about some setup pictures? :p

My cheaper Heartdeco desk is coming next week will do proper review then. I am planning to make my setup a bit smaller though.

It looks tiny. My (non movable) home made desk is 3m long. Could never imagine fitting everything on that

Fits the corner perfectly and scaling down on my setup. But it is on the small side of things. Beautiful thing is you can easily take the top off and put a wider top on. Just check weight limits. Next want to get a two monitor arm stand and then use my notebook as the 3rd screen. And then later when I am rich one wide 4K monitor.
Previous desk was over 2 meters and all it gathered was junk.

1. Yes. It's nice enough that I shipped it with when emigrating instead of selling and buying on the other side.
2. It depends. I would like larger. Because I have 2 x 27" monitors, there isn't really room to position two speakers on it so that I have LOS to both. The depth is decent though.
3. Birch. It's OK. I think I stained it already with something oily on one spot. RedViking's looks nicer and I would have rather gone for something like that given the choice. Or ideally butcher's block. With the 120Kg weight limit I can always just replace the top down the line. Sturdy, yes. Although I noticed that it does wobble a bit if you lean on it properly.
4. Yes. I have the NB F195A dual arm.

Thanks for the in-depth answers! I ordered a NB H180. Hoping it lives up to its reviews!
