Star Trek: Where To Start?

I could never get into it, it was rather boring watching people talk, move on more people talking etc... Also after watching DS9 it wss much the muchness

I couldn't get it anywhere so I just subscribed to Netflix, they have everything.

There are so many damn episodes in TOS and I want to watch them all because I enjoy them but they are quite dated as I find them rather slow at times, don't know how I will get through all of them~!

I think its more for the sake of noslalgia. Loved it as a youngster
 
Enterprise first, then The Next Generation, last Voyager.

I found Deep Space 9 too slow, watched about a third.

Whatever you do leave Voyager for last, begin with Enterprise.
In hindsight I preferred Enterprise with Archer over the Next Generation with Picard.
 
I tried TOS but I lose concentration they are very slow paced. Think I should try TNG.

My Theory is that you will only enjoy TOS is you were an original watcher.... or grew up with the endless repeats at a time when there wasn't much else on.

I watched them growing up in the seventies.

I got all the seasons from a friend, watched one episode and gave up. Seemed very stupid....not in the same Universe as Star Trek.
 
I would start at DS9 and Voyager, then work my way back from there. I loved TNG, but they had many many many filler episodes.

I suspect they would feel dated to the younger generation, if I happen to come across an episode while channel hopping I will watch it.

Wow. Babylon 5 is one of the best written Sci-Fi out there. Much better than the monster of the week episodes or Star Trek. B5 is actually serialized.

I was written with a 5yr story arch. Also won a bunch of awards.
 
Babylon 5 was a great series, but like many good shows before it, it takes a few episodes to get going. The acting sucks, but the story is engaging once you get into it. Much better than star trek although the production quality of star trek (excl. TOS) is better.
