Star Wars: Rogue One Is Taking This Step To Ensure Accuracy

By now you’ve realized that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in the process of taking over the damn world. In light of this madness, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that this is just the first step in Lucasfilm’s plan for total global domination and that we’re going to get a new Star Wars movie every year for the foreseeable future. The next installment, the first of the standalone Star Wars Story movies, Rogue One, has been likened to a gritty war movie, and according to a new report, the production is taking steps to ensure that it feels authentic.

If watching Rogue One does indeed wind up feeling like watching a war movie, that will be due, at least in part, to the fact that a number of real life soldiers and military personal are serving as extras. Forces.tv reports that the production has enlisted members of the British armed forces to populate the film and lend an air of authenticity to the proceedings.

Approximately 40 members of an Army Air Corps Apache unit, the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force were given the opportunity to take their leave and use it to venture to a galaxy far, far away. They shot top secret scenes on sets located in massive sheds at Cardington in Bedfordshire, a locale the saga has visited before—Episode IV filmed there back in 1976....

Can't wait, having logged many hours in X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter - Balance of Power, I hope they make it awesome.
 
This movie will be set in between episodes 3 and 4 showing how the rebellion forces obtained the death star plans.
If you will remember, the death star design actually began under the separatists on Geonosis and was shown in the prequels.
Right at the end of episode 3 when Darth Vader has his newly fitted uniform, he stands next to the emperor and a younger looking Grand Moff Tarkin as they gaze out upon the construction of the first death star.

I really hope this movie succeeds in showing us a grittier war side of Star Wars we have not seen before!

Isn't the fett one still a rumor? I know they say 2018 is when it's going to be out but not actually confirmed

Didn't know bout the Han Solo one. Sheesh, my adulthood is going to be fun for the next couple of years :)

Watch the latest Goldberg episode, the geeky kid is wearing a revenge of the Jedi t-shirt. Haven't seen any comments on the web about it though

Yes they are just rumours. Pretty much anything after 2017 is just speculation!

Just watched the teaser and damn it looks good. Love the idea that it's playing off in between episode III and IV. For some reason I'm more excited about this one than I was for The Force Awakens.
