Starlink surpasses half a million pre-orders

SpaceX has achieved another major milestone by surpassing 500,000 pre-orders for its Starlink satellite Internet service.

The company's operations engineer Siva Bharadvaj verified these figures during SpaceX's most recent Starlink launch, saying that to date "over half a million people have placed an order or put down a deposit for Starlink".

The flight - which took place on Tuesday 4 May - marked the company's 26th mission launching satellites into low-earth orbit to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband cover-age.

I think Starlink need to offer the service in Rands not U$ for me R999 per month is okay since 100Mbps FTTH cost around R999. They can keep $499 setup cost but subscription premiums must be Randela's

Rand is worthless for uncle elon.

This is for people without FTTH, there is no replacement good ol physical cable to the house

But U$ price won't be steady this month you pay R1499 next month is R1600 look at Netflix they went with local currency to offer subscribers steady prices

If they offer their services using United State dollars it simply means the monthly premiums will change each and every month and also bank charges will be higher because you are dealing with foreign exchange so it could make sense for them to offer the service using the local currency look at how Netflix implemented local currency billing support this made it simple 4 subscribers to pay and also attract more subscribers.
