Start up programs

Hey~

I would like to ask, on Window XP, how do you add or remove a program from start up.. for example.. If I do not want my anti virus to run at the start of set up.. (just an example.. ) how do I do that?

you can go Start, run, msconfig.

Or you can do it through regedit and clear it out permanantly but I would go with option 1.

I use WinPatrol from BillP Studios for this - is really easy to use and you can monitor all startup, services and even delay the start of programs in the way you want. Not free, but I think it's worth the bucks.

Well I followed the one with the windows option, I think not installing any software is still better, because sometimes software mess around with the windows, and because you allow it to do it.

And also some software are donkies, because when you uninstall them, then the problem comes back again..

autoruns is good if you know what you doing, other wise "Advanced system care" has the best tool for this I have found

I thought C Cleaner was a program that allows you to "clean" your computer for registry codes.. or something like that..

well technically the commands that tell your Windows to start these programs are stored in your registry

With the problems that are frequently posted by kaisterkai, I would recommend a Mac :D.

Sigh, well I do try solving them myself, but sometimes it really get out of hand..

anyway, so of these problems aren't really my problems..

so it's always knowing something, even if you don't have the problem.. ^ ^
