Me and a mate of mine are going to start playing WoW again this week. We would like some opinions on which classes will go together well for leveling. Thanks:D

Is there a way to use RaF if you are based in SA? We were thinking of Warrior and a Shaman, any good?

Any/all classes 'combo' well, but if you two want to be able to run instances I'll echo the sentiment that one guy going tank and another going healer will make your random runs much quicker ito queue times and much more succesful not having to rely on random tanks or healers that too often don't know what the hell they're doing, especially at the lower levels. I'd suggest, for tank either a warrior or paladin (classes that can use a shield have a much easier time tanking while levelling and also at the end game), although a feral druid could work well too, and for healer go for a balance druid or elemental shaman as these are easy to level solo and they share much of their dps stats with their healing spells (intellect, spellpower, spirit).

For ultimate buffstacking, paladin tank plus shaman healer gives you access to blessings and totems.

I gotta say, this new random thing is great for lowbs. I actually ran Gnomeragan last night. Gnomeragan! Haven't been through that place in years.

Why don't you both roll druids you can tank heal dps caster or cat

They really easy to level and you get free flying mount at 60 and high speed forms earlier on.

You can also pick up quest items in flight form makes those gathering quests really fast

Solid advice!

Thanks for the advice Skurm! Awesome info. Looks like I'll be going Warrior and he'll be going Shaman. :D

Warrior+sham is good. Get him to drop Strength of Earth (or Stoneskin if damage taken is a problem) and Windfury and your threat+dps will rocket. Your buffs don't really benefit him if he's healing, though, but if he's ever dpsing as enhancement, your Sunders and Battle Shout will push his numbers up quite a bit.

For solo leveling I found that a toon with high dps is best. Never didn any instances while I was leveling.

In a group the hybrids will prob be the best Druid, Pally, Shammy and even Priest. TBH (and I stant to be corrected here) I would have both of you going DPS so that the mobs go down faster and wouldnt bother with doing any instances (although the loot can be pretty good).

One great leveling boost I found apart from RaF is the the Artifact Items as they make you lvl 10% faster per item! Sadly you will need a lvl 80 in order to purchase these items.

I had a brilliant DPS mage I leveled as my first character. Was not easy at all. So perhaps a DPS that can take a thumping when you pull more than one mob.

I have about 9 heirloom items now to help me level so I use those for the extra twenty percent XP. [afaik you can only wear two items that will give you extra xp]

There is a third item available now: Dread Pirate Ring. It's going to be a pain to get though. You have to win the Kalu'ak fishing derby and select the ring as a reward.
