If they take his pension, he will appeal to the ConCourt and they will slap him with more costs.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out of course in the case of his pension since its a defined benefit pension.

But a quick read of the Pensions Act seems to indicate that up to R3000 per month can be "attached" quite easily, but this might be a different kettle of fish when he is effectively paid a salary for the remainder of his life of x with increases every year.
