Oh, I wasn't talking about Jacob. Like I said earlier, apparently he was too stupid to hoard money while he allowed the Gupta's and cadre's to rape the country. I'm referring to the Gupta's bank balances.

Another theory of mine is that Zuma didn't accumulate funds, because he knew he could be investigated. So he thought the Gupta's would be a financial umbilical cord to fund him over time. The only problem with that is, the Gupta leaks came along and he was farked up beyond any recognition.

Britain's new Magnitsky act, like a similar law enacted in the United States, is named after Sergei Magnitsky, a lawyer who was arrested and later died in prison in Russia after accusing Russian officials of a massive tax fraud.

The new law gives the government the power to penalise those it says are credibly involved in the most serious violations of human rights and corruption. The measures freeze their assets and bar them from visiting Britain.

"Corruption has a corrosive effect as it slows development, drains the wealth of poorer nations and keeps their people trapped in poverty. It poisons the well of democracy," Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said.

Britain also targeted Ajay, Atul and Rajesh Gupta, Indian-born brothers at the centre of a South African corruption scandal which contributed to the downfall of former President Jacob Zuma. They are accused in South Africa of using their relationship with Zuma to profit financially and influence senior appointments. The Guptas and Zuma have denied wrongdoing.

I have to ask whether the Guptas had assets in the UK?

I highly doubt that they have any assets in UK. My guess is that they avoided UK altogether because since last few years, extradition saga of 2 India businessmen (mallya & modi) has been going on and it certainly looks like UK will extradite these 2 within year. Guptas would rather take chances with Dubai as UK seems to be finally taking some action against fraudsters taking refuge in UK.

Nothing that I have picked up and I have been listening since the early morning. Ramaphosa opened with a statement which is pretty much the same as the statement he made that the ANC will take action and root out corruption and what not, and since then he has strategically approached the questions in how the ANC is dealing with the issues, but nothing unordinarily has been brought up or made. Ramaphosa is also very relaxed.

They went on their lunch, so I don’t know what is going on since.

I actually meant the donations to the ANC, on the CR17 campaign things were done much orderly with the necessary accounting being done. On behalf of the party they are going to have a tough time explaining how donations were handled.

There is nothing more to the CR17 funds than the Zuptoids being sore losers and the EFF supporting them. There is no obligation for any winning candidate to account to the party or anyone regarding the donations, it never happened with Zuma but for some odd reason it is demanded with Ramaphosa.
