State gets R1bn from Telkom deal

The entity, headed by former director-general of the department of communications Andile Ngcaba, and business tycoon Gloria Serobe, should get R113-million. The consortium has other politically connected shareholders including Smuts Ngonyama and Dali Mpofu

And we wonder why our telecoms is in such a mess... :rolleyes:
 
Brandon Doyle, trustee of the Lion Trust, which holds 50percent of the Elephant consortium, said shareholders were happy with the payout despite the fact that the share price took a nose-dive on Monday.
Why did Telkom pay that dividend?
