Hi all

I've started buying games over steam (extremely cheap). In my eagerness i totally forgot one still has to download these items over the internet, epic fail as Tales of Valour (complete) and Dawn of war 2 are over 14 gigs.

Is there any local portal to leech those off, copy into the steam folder and take it from there or am i screwed?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Do you know anyone with the Dawn of War II installation CD? You can use that to install the game.

If you don't, I have it, so I can dump the Steam backup files on a local server for you. (I've got uncapped :) )

I have no solution for Tales of Valour, though. Soz.

Awesome

Thanks EtienneK

I would really appreciate that. I'll have to wait till next month to get Tales of valour via Afrihost (When they eventually activate my account).

Thanks for the assistance.

No prob.

Do you have any idea where I can upload it to? There used to be local ftp sites that kept large files for a certain amount of times. Do those still exist?

I cannot explain to you how much I swear at steam's download system :p

Even WITH a steam backup, you still end up downloading an excessive amount of data.

I installed HL2, HL2-EP1, HL2-EP2 and HL2-The lost coast last night from a backup I made in March. I used 600MB of bandwidht!!! To install from a local backup?

****ERS!

I've often reverted to getting a pirate copy of the game and just copying the data files in the relevant SteamApps location.

The is also the IS server! Set Africa in the download section and tuda!

hmmm, that doesnt seem to work as you have to login to steam 1st which requires international bandwidth doesnt it?

Looking for free FTP sites, ftp.uunet.co.za asks for a password :/
