Just an update. Esquire was out of stock with that Thrustmaster wheel, so I ended up just going for the Genius from Takealot. It's really not too bad. Sure, it's a very basic wheel, but for my purposes it's perfect. Pretty easy to setup. Literally a flip of a switch to set it to PS3, despite the distributor insisting it isn't compatible. Might just end up buying another one so I can play along with my boy. At R229, it's pretty decent for what it does, and if it breaks I won't shed many tears knowing what it costs. No vibration control though, but that's a plus for me because the vibration on the controller scares the $hit out of my kid
