Steven Stephens

Let's be honest, it was a lot less shocking than watching people get beheaded on the interwebs.

I thought maybe it's because of my becoming desensitized but at least you agree too. I have to keep reminding myself that behind every cruel and cold death like this, that the victim is someone with a family and friends who loved him very much.

Edit: Long ago things like this inspired me to phone my dad every day and ask him how his day was and tell him I love him because I know it could be mine or his last time. My mom passed away very suddenly 2 years ago. I saw her on Saturday evening for dinner, on that following Tuesday she was dead.

Give your loved ones a call and make peace with them today, right now if there is anything in between you. Just trust me on that.

Sorry but I still feel sick to my stomach.

Extremists have some ideology behind their actions. They're pretty much soldiers with clearly defined enemies: Infidels, blasphemers, traitors etc.

But this guy just calmly killed a man on a whim. The sheer casual and indiscriminate manner in which he did it was horrifying. It literally could have been anybody, that old man just happened to be there so he was killed, just like that. For no reason.

Much worse than beheadings IMO.

I disagree. If you watch this video, this nut job had a clear reason and logic for his actions. Maybe a logic and reasoning not understood by us, but he believed it.
