Vodacom

I would like to know what the current stock issue is on the "Dell D620 Deal"?

I signed a contract last week, and I havent received my laptop yet.

I was told that I might get it at the end of March, 1 and half months from now.

This is crap. What is going on?

I don't know, I havent asked yet. I still want the deal, but not one person can give me an ETA.

I heard that 2 people lost their jobs at Vodacom about this problem, but that still does not give me my laptop.

What ticks me off is the fact that I signed the contract and only 2 days after
that I heard that there was a stock shortage. It should have been communicated to the dealers.

"Another first from Vodacom" - That's how they advertise it. Nice

I just wonder if they are going to deduct anything from my account at the end of the month? Lets see.

Just sent a nasty letter.

Same story as what I went through when the Nokia N70 came out. Eventually getting a lawyer involved got me my phone.

I did'nt want to go that far. But if I must.

How long did you wait? Was it possible to cancel the contract?

Thanks

I got a response from Vodacom on 25/02/07, and they are looking into it.

I still have not received feedback, just a "sorry and we will".

vodacom3g, do you know anything yet?

Cheers

Ok, there is no stock available on 3G/HSDPA cards or Dell Laptops says Vodacom?

The cards will arrive on the 1'st of March, and the Laptops at the end of March.

The reason : They do not buy the laptops from Dell SA. So will Dell SA support the laptops?

Methinks this is still bull. They are not offering me an alternative.

I would have been happy with a loan unit (PCMCIA card).

The reason why there is a STOCK PROBLEM is because all new MACHINES will have the new MICROSOFT VISTA operating system.Watch this space for availability of stock

Yes

I got an answer from a dealer today. The new laptop will be a Dell D620V, with some kind of Vista on it.

It seems that the stock will arive middle March, and go out to dealers a week after that.

Also, the shipment for PCMCIA and USB HSDPA/3G modems has been delayed for another week.
