“After 1994, we had to provide energy to all, because people had the right to energy, and we suddenly realised we don’t have enough,” Zuma said.
and instead of responsibly increasing power stations (while not neglecting maintenance on existing) and gradually offering electricity to more areas, as capacity and supply increases, they just opened the floodgates, not to mention allowing so many freeloaders, lest they loose votes.
there really is no valid excuse for the ANC to get the blame off them.
and to make matters worse, they arent exactly really trying to fix the problems.
all the anc can do is play the blame game.... doesnt solve the issues JZ!
may be a right to energy, but for many of us, that right stops when we dont pay our bills. if all the freeloaders were given the right to pay for what they want, and the right to go without it if they dont pay, the money received could have gone a long way towards increasing supply
still the anc isnt really serious about solving the crisis (which they dont even acknowledge), or they would have looked to getting other people/companies to add to the supply, but they want to rather keep the monopoly to a company who just cannot step up
