Eskom, please explain how we need to cut further back on electricity.
Must I switch off the fridge, the TV and my four CFL lights and then sit in the dark while you drag your heels on the construction of new power stations?
I'd rather risk a blackout before I do that.

I'm not in the Free State, but I'm so tired of Eskom's relentless assault. Eskom, we've been saving electricity for several years now. We've HAD to at the current price of electricity. For a lot of us, there simply isn't anything more we can do. So how about you stop blaming your users of "wasting electricity" when all they're doing is USING. Now you bring your side, Eskom.
 
Yes keep blaming us for your incompetence. It's all our fault, not the smelters who were awarded ridiculously low long-term rates...
 
Yeah sure - I'll cut back. While the length of the Sydney Road streetlights burn active mid-morning on any given day of the week. While great swathes of streetlights are on, the length of Umgeni Road at midday. While often enough those huge banks of lights inside the Moses Mabhida stadium are functioning during daylight hours. Why don't you have a word with the Municipalities rather, and lay off the already pressured rate-payers?;)
 
This is so patronising. Why should we suffer because of their stuff up. Has anyone seen their Megawatt Park building at night? All the lights are on with no regard for saving electricity or anything like that.
 
Every fcking day our street lights are on in Faerie Glen and they tell us to stop wasting electricity???????????

If it is left on to prevent cable theft (not a issue in our area at present/past) then it's just one big circle because the anc can't protect the people or assets in this country then they should stop wasting our time.
 
I cut my consumption by almost 2/3 compared to 10 years ago but I pay just over double what I used to. I agree with Hemi300c, they need to nail the municipalities who waste.
 
Port Elizabeth cut their consumption massivly and then we were told that we cut to much so now our budget was being cut.
WTF!!!
 
Go and Fsck yourselves Eskom... We have done our part, now get the new power stations online and stop dicking around
 
Freeze your bonuses for doing fsuck all. Take your finger out of your arses. Do something that doesn't involve us.

Ahhh yea wtf they must get their own. I guess if we had an abundance of electricity then yea sure give it to everyone but we dont so why must we get blackouts when we supplying to other countries.......
 
Went CFL and now LED
Wrapped the geyser
Solar powered the geyser
Waiting for approval on the new direct current battery powered pool pumps that use a fraction of the electricity.

In short... Eskom, you may smooch my ring, you incompetent bunch of butt wipes.
