Stop wasting electricity, warns Eskom

It's not about the demand. It's about the lack of supply. You're on the wrong side here Eskom. If you must be a monopoly thanks to the gov then don't complain when you could have a competitor running your profit margins (if any) into the ground.
 
Interestingly its OK for some to swear at Eskom in this thread... my post got deleted...
Anyways WTF ever.. appears we have some Eskom supporters/ass-lickers on this forum. I suspected so for a while already.

PE's municipality is a special bunch. Kouga owes Eskom millions of Rands, but they'd rather bide their time and risk defaulting while they wait for the wind farms to kick into action.

Geysers and pool pumps and aircons chow a lot of electricity. Go solar and dc.
Stoves also chow, so go gas.

Solar equipment is still darn expensive.
It's going to take a few more Eskom tariff increases before people are motivated to switch to solar.

I want to build a sizeable water feature in my garden but it's going to cost me around R10,000 for the pump, solar panels and pump controller.

Step one - start complaining about the critical shortage of electricity capacity.
Step two - warn the consumer to cut down on consumption.
Step three - organize a few blackouts to emphasize your point.
Step four - get your increase.

They can't have an increase. NERSA has already set their increase for this year and next year.

It will only go so far until people go off-grid.
Then what are Eskom going to do to generate income?
