Some serious Springbok injuries picked up this weekend: Fullback Conrad Jantjes broke his leg. Schalk Burger out with ankle. Adi Jacobs out with shoulder. I'm getting worried, if this trend continues we'll be taking on the British Lions with backup players only!

the stormers have so many springbok players and potential springbok players, they just don't seem to 'gel' as a team

SA Rugby broadcasters should follow their English Football counterparts and NOT show repeat replays of serious injuries. It was not "sport" watch Conrad breaking his leg in slow-mo over and over again.

Ok, I had just finished a bottle of red wine when Jantjies broke his leg - but was his foot really jiggling around like his shin was made of rubber?

Yep. Not something you want to see repeatedly.

Definitely not!

But the commentators were saying: "lets have another look and see what happened...yes, I think he may have tweaked his ankle or something, maybe the reverse angle will give us a better view." (Or something like that)

Had my leg broken playing football in Mmabatho and my deltoid torn playing rugby in Kimberley. Equally painful.

They televise tiddlywinks and rock, paper, scissors on ESPN. Sounds like it's more up your alley. The rest of us PVR that kinda thing in slow-mo for the "ooh effect". Just seems absolutely pathetic to televise a full-contact sport, only to have the replays censored because of the full-contact aspect. In fact these days rugby is moving towards less of a contact sport since your pea-brained soccer inebriates infiltrated rugby's ranks and began citing for things such as "not placing the player on the ground safely". Fsck that.

One thing I'd like to know - what have they achieved by censoring the replays? Reduced violence in the country? Reduced injuries? Reduced number of Darwin candidates who attempt to replay the incidents for themselves? No. All they have achieved is increasing talk-time for the likes of Trevor Brooking to bore us to death about their ex-careers...

Back on topic:

I've now stopped watching Stormers games because of their piss-poor performances. Thankfully the Sharks have got back to winning ways...

I wish him a speedy recovery as he is an asset to SA rugby.

No need to mother the sport!

Fully agree - everytime someone gets tackled HARD (not high), it is deemed a dangerous tackle. Also need to bring back rucking, it will stop players from falling over and slowing the game down.

Actually rucking is one law I fully agree with being outlawed - it's completely playing the man (dangerously) off the ball and becomes a free-for-all stampfest. Especially when you see some of the spikes being used by the players. And I can't recall any players complaining about it being outlawed. Besides, these days there are laws against intentionally slowing the ball at the breakdown - whether it be lying on the wrong side of the ball, not rolling away or making an effort to etc. I like the way the game has evolved at the breakdown, especially the free-kick > penalty introduction. I reckon it has quickened the game up a bit...

When do we start a "Pick your Bok team" thread? Squad is announced in 3 weeks time...
1-15, plus 7 benchmen!

Good idea, I reckon wait till the last week of the UBER 14 contest first, might well be a few more injuries yet.

lol...

I actually rewinded it on the PVR and watch it in slow motion, grow some balls... ;) His leg was seriously flapping around... First time I saw a player actually shouting like that... Normally serious injuries are head related...
