Strange characters in VMC inbox with Huawei E620

Just checking before I download the wrong 67MB file:
Which one did you install? CD2HOST01B113D01SP04C00(Normal with voice call)?

Can someone confirm that this is the correct install for the Huawei E620 on Windows?

Thanks! Just installed mine, and it works! I probably won't use the voice capabilities though, especially since Vodacom wants to charge R10 per meg of voice!

Are you not referring to VOIP calls? I strongly suspect that with this software you would be making a normal voice call, albeit at a very high (e.g. prepaid-type) rate.

Yes, using the headset on the datacard will make a normal voice call, charged at whatever package you're on.

Where did you hear Vodacom wants to charge R10/Mb for VoIP? I don't have any knowledge of this happening.

 AFAIK the Huawei dashboard software, allows you to make cellular calls with the data card and sim card, this is not VoIP but rather emulating a cellphone with a data card. By not using your Huawei data card & s/w for calls you're just shooting yourself in the foot IMO...

About the R10/MB for VoIP, even if Vodacom decided to suddenly use that strategic tarrif provision, and start billing everyone for VoIP usage, Vodacom would first have to publicly inform all of its customers of its intention to do so [otherwise it would be a PR disaster for Vodacom].

My impression, is that Vodacom still has that R10/MB VoIP clause bcos MTN is not going to drop its R20/MB VoIP charge, if MTN decided to stop charging for VoIP, then Vodacom would most likely drop its VoIP clause with immediate effect...

Would these strange characters have anything to do with the latest virus scare?

Why not score a PR coup then and publically announce that unlike their competitor MTN Vodacom will not be using differential charging for VOIP because we care about our customers blah blah...
