so let me ask here, if there is something else I should try, or something I missed,

have a Ancient Dell latitude 7280 Lappie, other day gave the flash code of 2 Yellow, 4 white indicating Memory Ram failure,
okay, luckily it isnt soldered in place like a macbook, so after resetting and trying again,

still same error, okay I guess, time to buy RAM,

brought this:

should be correct? should work, never heard of this brand before, but Hynix looks legit,
specs match up? key matches, all looks good,

Nope, put it in, and get the Other code, 2 amber, 5 white, indicating invalid memory installed, like WTF???
tried the usual things like unplugging battery, waiting a few min, trying again, all that stuff,

before I try ANOTHER RAM module, in the case this one is ALSO faulty, or broken, or both,
anything else I should try?

Clean the pins on the board with mem out ,use a pencil eraser ,the one on the back of the pencil ,or a clean toothbrush ,push ram fully towards the slot before folding it down ,make sure it's seated .

If that is correct, you need 2133Mhz DDR 4 RAM. Max is 16Gb module.
2400Mhz should work just fine, it'll just run at slower speed.
Op look on FB marketplace, there's ton of laptop ram for sale cheaper than Takealot and you can also try it out before paying, win/win.

I had a similar issue with an HP Laptop and some Arktek memory. RAM was within spec, no reason for it not to work, but it simply refused. Sent it back and bought Samsung memory instead at double the price and it worked perfectly.

Either these cheap modules are temperamental, or have a high failure rate.

When they work, they work just as well as a premium brand, hence the good reviews.

That's the other good thing with secondhand ram, especially 8gb sizes, is it’s typically Oem and very high quality

that's what I cant understand, Laptop already had a 2400T module in it when I brought it, worked up to now, dont understand why is isnt working,
with the EXACT same one as before.

Have you tried cleaning the slots?
It may not actually be a memory issue, that just may be how the issue is being presented
You can remove the hdd to see if that will help, it'll still boot into the bios

this has a SSD, and I recently changed that to a bigger capacity one than what it came with, and it worked brilliantly,
but what I cant understand is I brought a 2400P RAM, that should work, and that's still easily available,
looked around on takealot and only found 2133 speed ram at Great expense,

why is that?

here is what I want to fit, swap this RAM to this one, this SHOULD work right?

For whatever reason the ram you brought isn't working despite being compatible, those other ones should work but why buy new?
Here's a guy in Strand selling 2 x DDR4 4Gb modules for R250:

I'll meet you at the Mall, bring your credit-card and we'll start with a Latte and end with a Macbook Pro we'll get you and your problems are over :)

Or 16GB for R400 but a bit of a drive and it's in Belhar:
Or 4gb modules for R100 each:
16gb in Strand for R600, offer them R500 they'll take it:

going to return the Module I have on Takealot first, get the credit, and then decide if I want to spend a bit extra and get another apparently rare Ram module.
at almost double the price of what I spent initially, as now I must specifically look for 2133 speed RAM and to my great surprise its not easy to find.

very odd situation, as the Lappie originally had a 2400T module in it, and if that's broken, I should be able to replace it with the same thing, and it should work,
but apparently not, maybe the Cape town altitude has something to do with it

I need to fly back to JHB and it will behave itself, and the weather will co-operate with me,
