G'day MyBB,

my friend has got a strange problem on his laptop...... if he connects via Huawei dongle he can send and receive Gmail messages through outlook.....

If he connects via wi-fi hotspot on Huawei P10 lite he has full internet access, but he can only send messages via outlook....... there is a receiving error... any idea on what the problem is ???

TIA

Check the mail servers are set up right, could also be port blocking from the service provider.

So, on the dongle it works fine, but the message i get through wifi hotspot is "outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) email server.............

as mentioned above, is the wifi not allowed to use the 995 port as setup in advanced settings ? remember, a noob on this side

Same sim card in the dongle and phone?

Nope 2 different sims.

The imap gmail account on outlook works perfectly, just not the one set up with POP3 ...... i dont have the google account password, otherwise i could've deleted the pop3 and added a new imap ccount  if only there was a way to unmask the password field in outlook ?

It shouldn't be a problem with Outlook:
