I have this Samsung microwave that stopped working, no display upon plugging in..

I popped it open and found a popped fuse.. figured, great, cheap and easy fix.. so ten bucks later I popped in the new fuse..

She now powers on, but the moment you close the door the fan turns on, this is without setting any heating/cooking at all.. I can't tell if the light also stays on, as it's popped too and I didn't know(I replaced it a month ago, so figured it's fine) until I popped in the new fuse..

Microwave does still heat per normal, based on the 15 seconds I spent heating some water..

Checked the door latches and associated switches, they appear fine and the latches are engaging the switches, so it's not a misaligned/warped door..

What could it be....

Probably some fan control circuitry popped along with the fuse.

Not sure but thats sounds like the most logical thing.

Have a samsung microwave that also does that sometimes. I just open the door and bang it close and it stops. probably a sensor switch on the door?

This particular model has three contact switches on the door, no sensors..

fan control circuit. Used to be a relay, nowadays it's triac based and that device got hammered probably by whatever blew the fuse (assuming surge at this point)

How emotionally attached are you to this microwave? Replace.

It will likely cost less than R100 to fix your microwave.
That be great, I just need a way to find the problem components/parts.. if I can't, then it's appliance repair shop, where I am probably coughing up 1k..
