I watched S1 and S2 of Stranger Things lately. The S1 had that 80s vibe to it, the way the movie Goonies had the same vibe. But the sci-fi stuff was kuk. S2 became even worse and highly convoluted. It started to become a soap opera. I then gave up. Stranger Things maybe appeals to the kids with their fake Walkman and now CD nostalgia but the writing is bad. The scenes are dramatised badly. The acting is fine but the writing makes no sense. It's all stretched out like a soap opera. I'd much rather watch an older episode of Macross or Beavis and Butthead or Married with Children. It's Zoomer TV and it's cringe and meh.
 
The actual ending was OK, not bad. I'm satisfied that they closed it off decently.
The long dragged out scenes afterwards were a bit fluffy and cringe. It was a bit too long.
 
I feel that the finale could have been 30 minutes shorter. Victory and the episode is only halfway through....
 
Well, the finale mini-movie did all the things. I liked the retro vibes, but frankly I’d have preferred S1 vibes with a completely different plot (no hokey pokey demons beaten by a group of kids). Back to Slow Horses … I need a solid dose of actual gritty reality after all that marshmallow fluff.
 
Season 1 & 2 was excellent, then it kinda fizzled out, Season 5 what can I say, it had a lot of plot holes, some things didn't make sense, the writing wasn't as great anymore, will I put this on my all time top 10 list of series, NO! I wouldn't, will I rewatch the entire series, NO!...

Yes, but why did she take the oxygen canisters.? She had no idea where the kids were....

Absolutely loved the first two seasons. Very well written and well paced, with loads of homages to 80’s TV and film. Guess the fact that I’m an 80’s kid is what hooked me.

Season 3 is when it started going off the rails a bit, and 4 and yeah, definitely 5, ended up like so many other shows where they’d included so many separate storylines and subplots towards the end they didn’t have enough time to resolve most of them.

Like GoT, they treated the Mind Flayer and Vecna like the Night King: building up the main villain that has the ability to destroy the world over multiple seasons, but then the final battle is literally a few minutes with a lame ending/death that makes no sense (and in the case of ST, the entire final fight is shorter than Will coming out).

Lazy, rushed writing that will have everyone remembering the series for all the wrong reasons.
 
Season 5 not that great. Final episode wasn't too bad. I felt Henry's back story was rushed and not well explained. But all in all a great series as a whole and sad to see it end but you could see that by S5 the Duffer brothers were running out of ideas and there were a few plot holes.
 
Anyone else notice in the one scene he shoots a revolver and then there is a sound that sounds like empty cartrigers hitting the ground .. hmm.
 
I wonder how much the plot changed based on how long they took to make these seasons, and the "kids" who are no longer kids. So they had to introduce a bunch of kak to try and make it make sense, which actually made it worse...
