Strangest DC's

i uninstalled questhelper and deleted wowmatrix, and im stil getting the dcs. im hoping reinstalling the game would fix this problem for

Also DC'ing all the time with MTN 3G since 3.0.8!!!

3.0.8 has made playing WOW with MTN 3G impossible. I DC 10-20 times an hour!

Have tried reinstalling from scratch, diabling all add ons and the DC's continue.

Have tried a Vodacom connection to see if its from Blizzard's end and with Vodacom I do not DC but they latency are stupidly high and unplayable but I stay connected.

MTN latencies are between 400 - 600ms while connected but getting disconnected doesn't get you invited back to an instance group!!!!

If anyone has any solutions, please Post here.

I have the exact same problem, and also on 3G/HSDPA. So at least we have a commen problem. I would just like to know what happened that changed this ? It only started with the new patch :(

Does the new patch that was released today (3.0.8a) fix any of these issues? I got the dc problem again last night when I entered SW. Should have gone to the alchemy trainer just outside SW :(

yep this new patch, before 3.0.8a, is definitely the cuase of dces, i dc every 5 minutes doing quests. i got the 3.0.8a patch last night, and i dont really see a difference in my dcing. although i know someone that doesnt dc, even during raids. Hope this drama comes to an end, thinking of quiting wow, and getting a girlfriend, lol

Latest patch from 28/01/09 didn't solve anything for me with DC'ing using MTN 3G.

Still get DC'ed 10-20 times an hour. There seems to be no pattern either. Solo questing, being in major city or in an instance, I get DC'ed all the same... :(

Completed my dailies with a Vodacom connection last night..., latency ranged from 250 to 1,200, but not one DC! But this was a good Vodacom night. Usually the latency range is more 400 - 4,000!

Maybe its time for me to bite the bullet and join the 6 week waiting list for ADSL... :(

Scantid, ADSL is the most recommened with a semishaped/unshaped acc :p you wont regret it, cause u cant compare it to 3G. My unusal disconnects are Vista 64bit giving me errors and making my game crash :D

I just take it in my stride and have realised that MS are ... well you all know. Prob downgrade back to good ol' XP very soon

I play WoW on vista with no problems and no DC's. Just make sure your software is up to date and get rid of addons you don't need.

downgrade?

Good point :D upgrade would be more suited haha. Also i would like to know why CTmod doesnt work anymore, i downloaded the latest ones and they said ya it works with latest patch but when i try enable it in wow it just says "Incompatable".

Crowley ill take a look at it

3G to HSDPA switching reason for DC'ing

OK, it seems that since 3.0.8 when the internet connection switches from 3G to HSDPA or back again, I get DC'ed from the WOW server.

Anyone know how I can force the modem to stay at either of these connections. The connection GUI has the option to force either 3G or EDGE/GPRS but it seems that 3G and HPDPA are in the same category and you cannot force one or the other :(
