I'm curious, I've been streaming radio from local radio stations for the past month or so.
I expected it to be part of my local usage, however after checking my usage for the month my local usage is a big fat zero.

Surely everyday streaming should've shown some usage.
I live behind a koppie in jhb, so my radio reception is horrific.

So, does streaming of local stations count towards my international usage ?

I think they sympathize with you for listening to such crappy stations that they're just letting it go.

5FM (and many other stations) are hosted locally by Antfarm solutions.
I cannot explain why your local cap is not going down, but thank the heavens for it - and enjoy it.

Perhaps you have to use up your international before you can start on the local

This. If you're using Telkom as an ISP you need to finish off your international cap before you go onto "local-only."

It's the way it's been for years and it's unlikely to change any time soon.

You mean by using up your international allowance before the end of the month and then just making sure not to reboot router?

I prefer the other option: uncapped internet. No hoops to jump through FTW :)

ya thats about it :p

i would bought a 20gig account if the local was unlimited :P

haha... There's nothing local that's useful to me.

I Skype 24/7 with my SO in Denmark, I use Steam pretty much every day and download something fairly big at least once a week because of it.

Local usage? Bah. Only good for local rats and radio :p
