Hi Guys

I hope this is in the correct forum but i would like to know whats the best way i will be able to stream audio over the internet? Almost like a podcast?

I want to take our sunday church services and stream it (live)

Thanx in advance
Peder

I quite like shoutcast (http://www.shoutcast.com/). Its done quite well for me in the past. You DJ by streaming it to a server, which will then send it out to everyone listening. A nice solution if you aren't sure how much b/w will be available at the church

bandwidth. Basically if you go with shoutcast, you send 1 stream out and a server handles the rest, instead of you sending out 1 stream for every listener from the pc in the church (which will use up all your speed very quickly)

yeah i was thinking the same thing, is there a way to intergrate it into a website?

Seems its going to be easier than i thought... say you realise a bit late but missed the church service can you rewind?

I believe you can do something like that although personally I haven't tried. You should be able to get more information from the shoutcast website about that.

Basically its a client you run on your pc and then you connect to a server somewhere which is running the shoutcast server software. Then there is a website people can see and a simple link to click to start listening (just like 5fm really).

Sorry I can't really give more details because I have restricted access at work, but hopefully its a good starting point
