Streaming from Computer to computer

I want to stream music over lan to my brothers computer from mine, is there a way to do this?

Just add it to his play list by going trough the network. Just share your music.

Or u can on your brothers pc map your music folder and when he wants to listen to music just add that folder with the music in.

why would you want to stream on a LAN? Wouldn't it be easier to just share the content and open the content from the share?

VLC, or use some Internet Radio Broadcasting software. I used to use netmeeting for that, but netmeeting seems to have gone all borked.

I'm sure you don't have to use iTunes, it's horrible anyway. But does VLC even have playlists? It's definitely no good as a music library.

Windows Media Encoder can stream media to another PC. The client PC can play the streamed media via Windows Media Player or any other media player.
