My biggest question... is how people accept the kak streaming quality. I look at YT, Netflix etc... 4k. Dstv... best we can do is 720 compressed to infinity....

I couldn't log into my legitimate account but some oke in Worcester sells login credentials. Must be a special account, or inside job. "They" are special.

SARS goes after taxpayers who get very little because the piggies trashed the economy. The RAF wants those who contribute to the RAF to never claim from it. DSTv wants to ban websites, restrict streaming users, restrict streaming quality because "there isn't a demand for 4K", and arrest the only guy who can successfully log in to their app. Having to click on the blue line for live channels is also dumb. So many options, but, let's go after pirates: they're trying to win the game on penalties alone: ManieChoice.

"login credentials that allowed for unauthorised access to premium content." - I thought you could only have x1 TV and x1 extra stream for DSTV - is it like timeshare? you pay for the creds and a certain timeslot. If you overshoot your slot by a few minutes, does the next guy get the "too many concurrent" until you're done? So many, many questions

There is a bug I believe that allows unlimited streams using the same device example a browser. You can have 1 stream per tab as long as it's the same window so I suspect they use this loophole to pull all the streams from 1 account.

Pirate IPTV providers take these low quality 720p streams and AI upscale them to 1080p and frame gen them from 25fps to 50fps so they end up with 1080p streams at 50 fps which actually looks better than the original source.

LOL. So what is the impact on these guys? Would like to know how many subs they have successfully reconnected since their scare tactics started? A friend of mine in SA says he has blocked all calls from DSTV as far as possible. He hasn't been with them for over a decade. Seems these guys are trying to stay relevant with the Canal+ sale.

So Monochoice is actively going after people who are pirating its, as in Monochoices content. I lsay let them have at it, anyone stupid enough to pirate DSTV deserves what they get anyway. The rest of the private pirates who download for themselves almost never get caught and are fairly untouchable when they do get caught.

Seems to be about this and some similar mentions;

No one may unlawfully acquire, possess or use passwords or access codes that do not belong to them. This refers to anyone found to have acquired, possessed, shared, or used a password or access code to gain unlawful access to content.

The possession of any software or hardware that allows for the infringement of any of the above is also deemed illegal.

So, looks like someone got hold of users' account login details who aren't using streaming, and sold that on?

That's a bit harsh to a Journo. Sure there are the fluff pieces from multichoice but if its a supposed arrest and charge etc, it is news.
