Stuck/Retarded Pixel

Well I tried everything ...screen apps, massaging, q-tip etc etc... nothing works...this one is really really stuck.. only bought the Acer monitor yesterday..

I'm begging them to help me out :(:(:(

Anyone know how to wake a stuck pixel?

I have 1 that displays grey continuously.

I know your pain, same happened to me, tried everything i could find without any luck. Eventually sold it to a buddy at half the original price.

PS:
I wonder if there is anything one can do to "KILL" more pixels, if there is more than 5 or 6 dead pixels it gets covered by manufacturers warranty.

Anybody?? Anybody;)

Stick a screwdriver in the back of the screen when it's on. Be sure the screwdriver is well insulated.

err....

I've got a different problem. I have stuck pixels, but I think they are from the graphics card, cause they show up in the same place on 2 different monitors. CRT and LCD

I had a stick pixel that moved around the screen, turned out to be a small mite of some sort trapped between the screen and the protective layer. It's gone now though, but for a good couple of days I was convinced Ii was going mad!

Sounds like faulty graphics card memory

Faulty or over clocked graphics card. My old 5950 used to give static sparklies on the screen when pushed to much :)

I have one dead (i think) pixel.. it just stays black :)

I'm lucky that I don't have any dead pixels  But can pixels on an LCD become dead over time with use?

I mean the Pixel just stays white :) is that a dead or stuck pixel..

It could be either, the diffs are that with a dead pixel, some or all of the diodes contacts, are not connected, so it will never work, no matter what u do. A stuck pixel can be "massaged" into action again. The color does not matter, both types of problems can give you the same color.

If it is a stuck pixel, a firm massage will remedy that. If it does not come right after a little rubbing it's dead.
