Seriously though, OP, don't. Twas a joke, one does not spend your only 100k on a car which could see 5 figure repair bills for anything major. Maybe if you had 200 cash

Yeah, but older ones with high mileages. Like the the 2007 VW Golf with a mileage of 175 000 km for about R 96 000.
A Newer model with less mileage you won't be able to, you can get a 2012 budget car within that range with mileage under 50 000 km.
 
Consider a Renault Sandero. You can get a 2013 model with under 20 000km on the clock for 100k. Check dealerships and insist on a full Dekra.

Ah I miss my ST, was a great car. I think if you could get a good one then go for it. I purchased mine second hand many years back from a mother who just had a 2nd child. Made a low ball offer and got it.
