Students burn school in religious protest

What the frack is an "Islamic Area" ? Are we back to apartheid again ?


Does not sound like a private school at all. Its a public facility where the state rents out part of the facility.
But the campus management said Islamic rules were enforced because the Department of Higher Education was renting the building to the As-Salaam organisation, which promoted Islamic education.

It is believed that the department’s National Student Financial Aid Scheme pays R16 000 per student a year to As-Salaam for meals and accommodation.

So what has that got to do with anything? Because the government support the school and I am 100% sure they know what the school stand for some locals can burn the school because they find the school intolerable whu did they enroll at this specific school in the first place? As for the area I still see many Indian areas, black ares and white areas, they call it natural segregation where type seeks type. ;)

Its got to do with being able to go to school without having religion shoved down your throat.

This country is 97% christian, should we shove Christianity at every other school in the country?

This is not flipping Iran.

There are certain schools they call "public schools" with general rules to suit the majority but seems to me you do not even know that. So any idiot can enroll at a Christian based school with teaching based on Christianity and then burn the school because he does not want to be a Christian? ( Change Christian for anything you want). What a foolish and stupid typical African notion. No wonder the country and so called demoncracy is such a fsuckup as we see in the current "spear" art saga. Pathetic and stupid notions like these is what tears the country apart.

Thats my point exactly... they have taken Christianity out of public schools so that we are free to learn together, no matter what our religion.

Religion is what is driving our nation apart.
 
What's their matric pass rate for the past 5 years? If its 100% then leave them it's a good school. Ive heard these Islamic schools have some of the highest distinctions

That's you own distorted belief system there are many schools teaching principles based on religion that is doing just fine. What drives this country apart is racism and intolerance, the same intolerance you just repeated in all your posts in this thread. Think about it. ;)

technicaly it gets shoved (not exactly feel like it thoug)
My daughter goes to a public school with christian based ethos, so they thought alot more christian based stuff, I was aware of this and agreed to it as would like her exposed to as much of the world as posible. even though its not what we beleive in - I wont go burning the school down, I did agree to the rules in the first place

Non-Muslim students complained that their Christian religion was not tolerated and that they were not allowed to wear clothes that exposed any part of their bodies, other than the face and hands.

Thats not supposed to happen anymore... but we do live in a country with more than 90% of the population calling themselves Christian.

Also... all those schools are required to let kids from other religions practice their own religions within the school.

NOT ban the bible an force learners to attend prayers

I still remember it by heart to this day, and songs like "I love Jesus", My mom drew the line tho when they wanted me to attend the choir at a church:wtf:

Public schools are not supposed to be providing any religious instruction/worship whatsoever - unless they do so for all religions.
