hello,

how many people here prefer laying on bed while studying?

My neck and back hurts whenever i haveto sit down at a table and look down for a long period in time. (probably due to horribly uncomfortable chairs and having a weak back)

Do you know of some kind of easychair that can serve as a type of middle ground between bed and desk?

In which environment do you study the best?

The best study environment is one that replicates exam conditions. So sit on an uncomfortable chair with a wobbly table so you feel at home and relaxed when you get into the exam hall.

interesting theory.. So you're saying i must liberate some furniture from the local school :p

Bed for me = zzzzzzz straight away if I try study!

Desk and nice comfy leather chair!

Get yourself a decent chair if you can afford it. Many of my books and notes are electronic, so I prefer to sit in my comfy chair and study from my monitor. This means I don't have to bend my neck downwards and allows me to make the text large so it's easy to read.

My step aunt suggested that I get one of those exercise balls so I am forced to sit straight and balance myself while I work. I have yet to test that but I hope I can soon lol :)

She said it is good for your back and posture.

I read that you ideally should study in an environment that closely replicates that of the exam venue: desk and chair. Studying on the bed is bad because you feel relaxed and at ease so you don't absorb much (according to the article). I find it difficult to study on my bed because I like to write so lying down and writing is fail :) and sitting cross-legged on the bed and hunching over hurts a lot so better to sit at my desk.

right, but where do i buy those super comfortable leathe recliner that all our sims 1 houses had?

My problem with desk is that i dont have one of my own at the moment. Except for the flimsy worn out chairs at the dinner table.

Could someone who is tallish (say 180cm +) please post some pics of their studying venus? My biggest focus is on a comfy chair.

Regards

I never played Sims. Do you have something like this or this in mind? These will work pretty well for long hours of studying.

I study on the couch.havent felt that it influences my ability in an exam room.i reckon that being uncomfortable whilst studying and not being able to concentrate would influence me more.i have found this works for me.experiment a bit.

i used to prefer the floor in the library at campus ...

i used my bag as a pillow and layed down sometimes and study or sit up against the wall

or at home on my bed with the tv on ...

I used to like laying down on the ground with a pillow to prop me up. Otherwise on the couch or bed. Could never study for more than 10 minutes sitting at a desk. Being comfortable was key for me.

but hated a desk as the people around was noisy

would go sit in a quiet corner and study
