I'm trying to do an EFT via ABSA online only to find out that I can't even fit the beneficiaries name into the available space as it won't accept more than 20 characters. The hell is the point of that? Convenience my arse.

Do you need to put the full name of the beneficiary to complete the transaction?

You don't, they don't even check the name, get the number right and you're set.

Dont you have the reference number?

I've got the reference number.

Are you guys sure about the name? It's "Comxpert International cc". Do I abbreviate International or something?

The name is for your reference only.
The important field is the recipient's reference number.

Also, absa. There's your problem right there.

Yes we are sure. The "Beneficiary Name" with absa is purely for your own benefit.

WHAHAHAHAHA, I saw this thread and immediately thought "ABSA right?" and then read the OP.

LOL!

banker... the correct title would have been banker.:D

Stop bashing me. :D

I've always gotten away with credit card transactions or the beneficiary name fitting in full. I'm nervy when it comes to spending my dollahs.
