Hey Guys,

Just need to vent. Yesterday I was involved in a car accident and I pressed my tracker panic button, this was around 16:00 in the afternoon. Tracker never phoned me, so I pressed it again, they still didn't phone me, no notifications, nothing...

The next morning at 02:00 am, I get a call about my panic alert... So it took them 10 hours to phone me after I pressed the panic button.

Today I get the answer that I didnt push the button correctly *umm ok*

They said I should only push the button once for 3 to 5 seconds and because I pressed it more than once it caused the delay. I am sorry, I don't buy that. I feel the company let me down in a bad way and are now trying to find any excuse to cover their butts.

ROFL - because you have 5 seconds to spare when you have a gun to your head.

"Hold on hijacker, just got to push this button for 5 seconds, be out now"

Can't wait to cancel mine as soon as the 3 year contract expires (next month).

Yea, Tracker is the company, mainly their SkyTrax product...

I just got so upset on the phone when when they tried to blame me for them taking 10 hours to call me, so if I press the button more than once I cause their system to crash??????

I am really feel betrayed by them, the one time I needed them they couldnt help me and tried to blame me for it.

I'd like to know what he expected Tracker to do about his accident as well :wtf:

Another question is when last did you test your tracker?

There's an SMS shortcode he could've used for that.

You're way off topic. He felt it was appropriate to push a button that he pays for. They responded 10hrs later.. That's pathetic... The debate isn't "should I have pushed the tracker button"...

The unit in question has "Automated unit health checks." - the actual panic button has not been tested in a few months.

Benefits of SkyTrax according to Tracker

For roadside or medical assistance press your assist button.

Automated unit health checks.

If you have pressed your assistance button, we will first try to contact you to verify the type of assistance required.

We will then send one of our recovery teams to the location of your vehicle if the situation requires it.

Exactly why I got it.

I received the following from Tracker:

• The assist button was pressed excessively from 15:54:58 seconds apart until 15:58:31 hence causing the delay. This caused the alert to be hampered/jammed, in turn causing the signal to hit the stack late.
• The monitoring department informed me that Tracker only received the signal at 01:13:58 in the morning.

Now, I did press the button twice initially right after the crash, then a few minutes later (this time holding the thing down).

It wasnt a bumper bashing, the other car went through a stop street and straight into the side of me (into the drivers side), so I was hurt, I hit my head against the side window.

Attached is a photo of the other car that went into me. 20130925_160605.jpg

LOL - they apparently have a really pathetic system. Good to know for future.

That is such BS. Post on hellopeter too for good measure. 10hr response time to a panic call. Smoke signals would have been faster.
