How many stupid unenforceable laws do we have to comply with?

  • In the 70's we were not ALLOWED to syphon petrol on weekends and all garages were compelled to close because of the petrol shortage.
  • In the 60's we were not ALLOWED to dance, drink or go to movies on Sundays.
  • 30 years of apartheid laws.
  • This year the authorities have announced that we all have to change our number plates to the new barcoded type that has a chio in it. (so we will just drive without number plates) (oh poop! that is for electronic tolling the free-ways!!!)
  • the new pet by-laws - we will have to pay R 400.00 per pet licence!!
  • the new swimming pool by-laws- we will have to pay for a permit!!
This is just the tip of the iceberg Can anyone think of more?

How much more are we going to let them get away with.

- RICA. Criminals steal a phone, use it and through it away.
- Internet porn - in parliament - selling of porn via internet and general porn ban, to protect the children. Maybe some work would be done, everywhere!

Ways to generate cash for the gravy train is becoming more clever by the day.

In the old days it was about religious oppression.
Today it's about making more money.

Wrong!!! it was being in control. It was about supposedly knowing what was best for the individual.. and it was very much about the money... It is always about control over the money. Don't be fooled. Be aware and take a stand.

Here is another stupid law: Taking a nail scissors on an airoplane or not more than 100ml of liguid. And all must be in a clear plastic bag, Nitro Glycerne is lethal in much smaller amounts than 100ml. and I have never heard of anyone being held hostage by a nail clipper.. Its pathetic.

No ones been held hostage cause they not allowed on the plane! Shows you the law is working :) Haha..

But I think it's both for control and money..

Apparently you need a permit if you want to buy anything second hand on EBAY (or offshore)!

Did you know that? I didn't know that. Now whose duty is it to inform us? And how can we change this stupid law? Parliament? MP? Minister?

You remember the 60's!!!???

There should be a law against that.
:p

Ja well, we all get old eventually and what surprised me most was how quickly the years slipped by without me knowing. But it was an exciting time to be 16... Damn I was nearly old enough to go to Woodstock!! But the kid's that died at Berkley University were protesting about being conscripted to fight a war that they didn't understand or care about, a war that was on the other side of the world.

Something else that amazes and frightens me today is that the flower power hippies of the 60's that held protests for peace have become war mongers and staid old corrupt politicians of today.

What is the ideology of the kids of today? Have you got one? and what will they do with their lives in the future? It seems nothing unless you learn to see, think critically, and exercise your rights constructively .

I don't know if they changed this now, but a few years ago I heard about this law.
In England theres a law that states that everyone has to do an hour of archery a day.
This laws from the middle ages, because the england archers helped win alot of battles.
And they never bothered to get rid of the law.

Money and power got them all, and the delusion that they could change the system from within.

Nowadays its each man/woman for themselves.
The youngsters have very little ideology, they have very little passion for ending conflict etc, they are divided by technology. Facebook, twitter, social network sites, do just the opposite of what they claim, they break down the opportunity to come together cohesively and split loyalties to causes, making the protests of the 60's and 70's almost impossible to achieve on the scale that was achieved.

My job sees me doing about 8000 k's per month, and whilst driving this last week I was struck once again by the fact that laws appear to be made to be broken if you are out on the roads.

On one section of road between Richard's Bay and Melmoth, I was nearly taken out 4 times within the space of about 20 minutes on Thursday, simply because I was suddenly "attacked" by a group of motorists who saw fit to travel at speed that would have been dangerous if they had been the ONLY cars on the road. Two of the cars who passed me, possibly doing in excess of 150 km/h and then both causing several of us to quickly take diversionary escapes to avoid a couple of horrific accidents, ended up pulling into the garage at Melmoth at the same time as me.

It is almost as if the drivers are giving the middle finger to any type of law that is supposed to control their speed or actions. Solid lines, speed limits, soft islands and Stop streets are wantonly ignored...the tragedy is, is that all of these guys appear to be in cars that are either SUV's or saloons laden with safety features...they will probably get off Scott free in an accident, whilst killing others in the process!

If that's your argument then they should close PnP and all other shops on Sundays also.

You do know what the rest of the days of the week are for...right?

I buy some household products in bulk.Toilet paper, toothbrushes and disposable shavers. There are many more. If it's non perishable, it's value will increase monthly, without any need for specialised storage. Buy it in bulk. 10-20 years supply.

Why invest all your money in stocks and trades, when the simplest items are a greater investment, profitwise?

Look around....the world is full of opportunities...stay ahead...make your money grow in a myriad of ways.
