Style at last...

Had a dell once..broke..had to send it to CT as only "they" can fix it...came back, broke again..no thank you..

You must have had it years ago, or not paid for the on-site warranty.

I have had my dell for nearly 3 years now... it broke down once, phoned dell, next day some oke was by my place with a replacement part, and he left. I was without my laptop for a sum total of about 20 hours. I thought that was pretty awesome service.

I've never come across a dell that couldn't be... from a desktop all the way through to their high end datacentre servers.

Video card blew the motherboard (maybe I just got ripped off)....eish...I'm not dissing Dell, I had a bad experience, but I'm sure there are thousands of people like you who are very satisfied with their laptops..

I think you must have just had a bad experience.

Yeah I am very happy with all my Dell stuff.

Had a similar thing happen to me recently at work. Next day guy came with new vid card and mobo and replaced it there and then.

It's quite funny when you go onto the USA Dell site, and build one up there, and compare it to the price of the South African one. I never knew importing was so expensive

Our Dells don't come from the states.

Ours are built in Ireland. So for the best comparison you have to build your dell on the UK site.

Price of a Dell M1330 Base, from dell.co.za:
R11,537 (ex VAT)
+ R1,615 (VAT)
= R13,152

Price of a Dell M1330 Base, from dell.com:
$999 ~ R7,237
+ $0 ~ R0 (shipping to a US Address)
+ $250 ~ R1,811 (UPS to Cape Town)
+ $140 ~ R,1014 (VAT)
= R10,062

That really sucks. Its cheaper to import your own legally, then buy one here.

Got a m1330 with the W.LED screen Nice laptop.. must agree with the guys .. dell support is a bit dodgy... also bought the dell BT keyboard and mouse which dont work with my dell built-in BT.. i have emailed and waited on the phone for 30 min.. and just no response...

Dell = overpriced crap.

That said this doesn't look bad. But does it come with XP (or perhaps run Linux?) I'd rather drill holes through my toenails than face using Vista again on any new machine I ever buy.
