Hi,

Just a general thread about Subaru. How many do you see on the roads?

I travel just short of 50km from Waterfall, through Kloof and Pinetown, down to Durban CBD via Old Fort. This morning I saw a total of 1 Subaru on the road. I then subsequently disqualified this sighting as the person turned into Subaru Dealership. Probably working there.

Average around 4 per day. Excluding the 2 in the parking lot.

I see quite a few around. If I look out the window there is one sitting in the parking lot now.
Mostly the Forester though.

Interesting to see that VW has overtaken Toyota in the listings.
BMW, Mercedes and Audi are also in the top 10, with each marque selling over 1000 vehicles in the month.

Just keep in mind that the Koreans don't disclose their sales figures.

VW has been ahead of Toyota for new passenger vehicles for a long while. When you look at total vehicles, Toyota is still ahead.

I don't see a lot but last night I saw one and the thing that I simply couldn't let slide is that it has HUBCAPS on.

And terribly loose ones at that which is why I specifically noticed as I feared it might come off.

This also wasn't an old car, previous model from the current one.

I sometimes get to drive mine as well, see more Foresters and Outbacks on the road, not new models though

I see my STI everday :)
And there's a blue STI that works somewhere down the road from where I do, so I hear it rumble past the offices daily.

Foresters and Outbacks are also Subarus...

In Pretoria/Centurion, there are quite a lot of them.

Ha! So now I know who almost smacked me up the backside when I turned in to work today!! ;)

Subaru is a low number import model - and we sell between 9 and 12 units per dealership per month, and there are 10 dealerships in the country.

You will NEVER see many on the road, because we don't import enough to make them high visibility. It has absolutely nothing to do with popularity and everything to do with supply.

In the world market, Subaru SA is a drop in the ocean, and the number of cars that we get, reflects that. :)
