I've just posted off an email to YOU Magazine suggesting they do an article on the outrageous prices Telkom charges for Broadband in SA.

Basically I outlined Telkoms current pricing, planned pricing, the ICASSA findings, and mentioning MyADSL as well as providing them with the contact details for the site.

Hopefully they will do an article which will reach Millions.

Maybe if the masses actually see what we're being ripped off they might change their apathetic view of "The Monopoly"

The main reason I did it was because they had an article about SA banks overcharging

wd :p :p , i think more poeple on the forum should become more proactive wd and thank you :D

This is a great idea. The more people we reach who *cannot* afford ADSL, the beter (I'm not saying YOU/Huisgenoot readers can't but they reach more people as a whole). If more people who cannot afford it start complaining, it will help a lot

as a mother, and let me tell you, a LOT of mothers read You and Huisgenoot, if the article is pitched in such a way that it is obvious to the average mom that her household budget, no matter how it is flexed and stretched, will never enable her to give her children the incredible world that is the internet, she will take ACTION and take that action loudly! Evert tea, every lift club, every grocery queue, every office, every hairdressers, every where we moms gather put the world to rights. Add to this that her kids school could actually get discounted internet and telecoms and that the DoC hasn't followed through, wait, sit back and watch the whoop ass. I love mothers. We're so FEISTY!

True, but don't forget, YOU/Huisgenoot would also be the first magazine (actually the second, after Vroue Keur) to overstate and sensationalise the horrors of the internet....

The more the better - BUT - we must get publications like Drum etc. involved as well.
